About Company

Observability data has spent years split across three systems — one for metrics, one for logs, one for traces. We started Greptime in 2022 to put it back in one database, without giving up open protocols or control over where it runs.
GreptimeDB was open-sourced in November 2022 and reached v1.0 GA in April 2026, with more than 140 contributors along the way. GreptimeDB's core engine and protocol implementations are licensed under Apache-2.0.
The founding team spent years building and operating large-scale monitoring systems before starting Greptime. This was our own problem first.
